Content gaps

Content gaps surfaces new pages worth writing — AI-discovered topics your site doesn't cover yet, mapped to the clusters they extend.

Content gaps points at what to write next. It finds topics your site doesn't cover yet but should, discovered by AI from your crawl and market. Each topic is mapped to the topic cluster it extends. Where Keywords works at the term level, content gaps works at the page level: it answers "what page is missing?" rather than "what word should this page target?"

Content gaps is an AI feature, available on the Tracker and Leader plans. On the free Scout tier it shows an upgrade prompt. Because it runs AI, it needs a provider connected first: your own key (BYOK) or managed credits. See AI features and Plans & tiers.

The workbench

Content gaps has a list view and a map view. They are two angles on the same analysis:

  • The list ranks candidate pages worth creating, so you start from the highest-value gap rather than the top of an unordered list
  • The map shows how each gap extends your existing topic clusters, so you can see where a new page reinforces a cluster you already have versus opening a new one
  • A Regenerate action re-runs the analysis as your site and market change, since a gap you fill this month shouldn't keep showing up next month

Results are grounded in your Knowledge store, so the suggestions reflect your actual products, locations, and audience rather than generic topics inferred from page text alone. A thin Knowledge store yields generic gaps. A complete one yields gaps specific to what you sell and who you sell to.
