Backlinks

The Backlinks module shows your referring domains and link profile, backed by cloud link data.

The Backlinks module shows who links to your site and how strong that link profile is. This is the off-page half of SEO that a crawl alone can't see. A local crawl reads your own pages. Backlinks are what other sites do, so this data comes from Digispot's cloud rather than from anything Spider fetches on your machine.

Backlinks is a paid module, available on the Tracker and Leader plans. The free Scout tier shows an upgrade prompt. Link data comes from Digispot's cloud and spends data credits. Each live refresh draws down the credit pool, which is why it is metered separately from the AI features. See Plans & tiers.

What it shows

  • Metric cards — referring domains, total backlinks, and authority signals, the top-line summary of how much external link equity the site has
  • A backlinks table — one row per link, so you can see which sites contribute the most authority and where they point

Authority here is a domain-strength signal, not Google's internal PageRank. It's useful for comparing referring domains against each other and for judging the overall weight of the profile.

Each row carries the detail that decides whether a link is worth anything:

  • Referring domain — the site that links to you
  • Target — the page on your site the link points to
  • Anchor text — the clickable text of the link, a relevance signal for the target
  • Rank — the referring domain's authority, so strong links stand out from weak ones
  • Nofollow — whether the link passes authority or is marked nofollow

Sort by rank to find your strongest referring domains. Read the target column to see which pages already attract links, and which important pages attract none.

Data states

Because the data is cloud-backed and credit-metered, each row carries a status so you can tell live data from a state that needs attention:

  • Not connected — cloud link data isn't linked to the project yet
  • No data — the domain has no backlinks on record
  • Out of credits — the data credit pool is exhausted; top up to refresh
