Common questions about Digispot AI SEO Insights — pricing, privacy, browser support, AI keys, and how it differs from SEO Spider.

Common questions about SEO Insights: pricing, privacy, browser support, AI keys, and how the extension relates to the desktop SEO Spider. For setup, see Install the extension.

Is it really free forever?

Yes. The core extension is free, with no trial period and no signup. That includes 150+ SEO checks, schema validation, Core Web Vitals monitoring, and export.

Optional premium features and platform integrations may be added in future, but the base extension will remain free.

Do I need an account or credit card?

No. Install from the Chrome Web Store and start immediately. No registration, no email, no credit card.

Which browsers are supported?

Google Chrome and all Chromium-based browsers: Microsoft Edge, Brave, Opera, and Vivaldi. All install from the same Chrome Web Store listing.

Does it work on any website?

Yes, on any public website — your own, competitors', clients', or prospects'. Browser-internal pages such as chrome:// cannot be audited.

How does it work?

Select the extension icon on any page. It runs 150+ checks in under 60 seconds and groups results by category with pass/fail indicators and recommendations.

The extension renders pages in a real browser engine, like Googlebot. As a result, it detects JavaScript-rendered content and schema.

What makes it different from other SEO extensions?

Most free SEO extensions offer basic checklists. This one adds schema graph visualization, AI-powered content analysis, industry-specific recommendations across 38+ sectors, live heading editing, Core Web Vitals integration, video SEO audits, and export.

Do I need an AI API key?

No. Every audit check works without one. A key adds AI recommendations, one-click fixes, prompt automation, and AI Chat. See Connecting an AI model.

Are my API keys safe?

Yes. All API keys, from AI providers and Google PageSpeed alike, are stored in your browser's encrypted storage. They never leave your device and never reach Digispot's servers. They are used only for direct calls from your browser to the respective service.

How is my data encrypted?

API keys and settings are encrypted using browser-native standards and stored in Chrome's secure storage APIs. All connections use HTTPS/TLS.

The extension follows Chrome Web Store security best practices, undergoes regular security reviews, and has no external dependencies that could leak data. Your information stays on your device, encrypted at rest and in transit.

Do you collect my data?

No. Digispot does not collect, store, or transmit usage data, API keys, audit results, or browsing activity. The extension operates entirely locally. Analysis happens on your device or goes directly to services you choose, such as OpenAI or Google.

Digispot does not track which pages you audit or how you use the extension.

Do I need a PageSpeed API key?

It is optional. Core Web Vitals work without one. Adding a free key from the Google Cloud Console removes rate limits and gives faster, more detailed analysis.

Can I export reports?

Yes, in TXT format, as a human-readable summary. You can also screenshot Visualize Mode to document issues visually on the page.

Can I edit headings in the extension?

Yes, with no CMS needed. The live heading editor shows your H1–H6 structure, offers AI rewrite suggestions, and lets you edit directly with a real-time preview.

What is AEO?

Answer Engine Optimization. It means optimizing for AI platforms such as ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, and Gemini. The extension checks structured content formatting, question-answer patterns, entity recognition, topical authority signals, and scannability.

How is the extension different from SEO Spider?

The extension is a free SEO assistant for page-level audits. Use it for quick checks, learning, and competitive analysis. It runs 150+ checks on whatever page you are viewing.

Digispot AI SEO Spider is for operating at scale. It runs 300+ checks per page across an entire site, crawled in mobile, tablet, and desktop modes. Findings are weighted by Google Search Console and GA4, so you fix what is actually costing traffic. It also adds content gap discovery, internal linking, backlink monitoring, and scheduled crawls.

Optimizing a few pages? The extension is enough. Competing for organic revenue at scale? You want Spider.

When do I need SEO Spider?

Consider it if you are auditing 50+ pages weekly, manually comparing mobile versus desktop, regularly exporting reports for multiple clients, or need systematic content gap discovery.
